Compact Preservation of Scrambled CD-Rom Data

When preserving CD-ROM discs, data sectors are often read in a so-called “scrambled mode” order to preserve as much possible. This scrambled is later unscrambled and further processed into standard disc image. The process of converting the image potentially lossy, but images exhibit higher software compatibility have greater usability compared from which they derived. Consequently, for preservation purposes, it necessary store both corresponding image, resulting greatly increased storage demands storing just one or other. Here, method that enables compact alongside (unscrambled) introduced. produces representation derived allows (1) unmodified form, (2) easy reconstruction needed, (3) substantial space savings (in typical case) using compression techniques.
